After the School Bell Program
Whitehouse Preparatory School offers a unique after and before school enrichment
program called After the School Bell ™. The After the School Bell ™ program is
comprised of three (3) components:
After School Program
Whitehouse Preparatory School offers an excellent after school enrichment program called After the School Bell ™. The After the School Bell ™ program is open to all students that attend Whitehouse Prep as well as children attending Whitehouse Elementary Public School. This program runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is tailored to meet the needs of each child by offering a unique blend of activities. Although this is not an extension of the School’s day program, the after school program provides educational and enriching activities based upon a two-year curriculum that is thematic in nature. One year the children learn about interesting aspects of all 50 states and the next year they learn about our continent and the many cultures around the world. The activities incorporate art, music, science investigation, drama and engaging hands-on projects through group interactions and staff involvement. Children in the program are also able to take part in activities presented through our Intergenerational Program. And at no additional charge, school age children (up to 3rd grade) will have time daily for doing their homework with the assistance of state certified teachers and other staff members. In addition to our many closely supervised after school activities, parents are afforded the option of supplementing their child’s experience with enrichment sessions in violin instruction, piano instruction, taekwondo, ballet, gymnastics, chess, academic tutoring and the like provided by outside instructors. And for students attending Whitehouse Elementary Public School who wish to take part in our after school program, the public school provides free transportation at the end of the school day to Whitehouse Prep. All you need to do is complete a Day Care Transportation Request Form. The school provides a nutritious snack and drink.
Before School Program
Whitehouse Prep also offer a before school program starting at 7:30 a.m. for those parents who need to get an early start to work in the morning. The program runs for about an hour until the start of classes and is available only to children enrolled in our full and half-day Kindergarten programs.
School Holiday Program
On those several occasions when there are no formal classes, Whitehouse Prep offers a supplemental Holiday program that is available to all Whitehouse Prep students as well as children who attend our after school program. The school Holiday program runs for a full-day (from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.) and is essentially an extension of our after school program in terms of thematic instruction and enrichment activities. For the 2010 – 2011 school year, this program included eight (8) days as highlighted on the Whitehouse Prep School Calendar which closely follows the Readington Township Public Schools Calendar.
How to Enroll
Enrolling into our After the School Bell ™ program is simple. Just complete an Application for Admission and note at the top the specific program you would like your child to attend. Upon our receipt of your Application and application fee, we will contact you to confirm availability, a starting date and our program policies.
